The news we’ve all been waiting for has finally started coming out of the various press agencies. The mood is, quite rightly, ‘cautiously’ optimistic. Robin is out of the coma that has had family and fans alike fearing the worst.
Robin’s spokesman, Doug Wright told the BBC:
he was able to nod and communicate with his family members
Rather fittingly it seems as though music played a big part in this miracle – if I was a betting man I’d say that hearing Barry singing was a big influence. He was quoted in one of his last interviews before being hospitalised as saying that he wanted to get back in the studio with Barry to record some new songs.
As much as we fans would love for that to happen sooner rather than later, the important thing for the immediate future is for Robin to get healthy again. He’s not out of the woods yet and it would be wrong to suggest otherwise.
I expect the recovery will be a long one, but if anyone can pull it off it’s Robin Gibb
